Step by step:

Follow this guide and install base64.

Login w/ zlogin...

Update packages:

pkgin -fy up
pkgin install openjdk7 mysql-client curl bzip2 unzip zip

Get confluence (download the latest... don't just copy my url below):

cd /opt
wget http://www.atlassian.com/software/confluence/downloads/binary/atlassian-confluence-5.4.3.tar.gz
# extract it
gunzip atlassian-confluence-5.4.3.tar.gz
tar -xf atlassian-confluence-5.4.3.tar

Put the files in a good spot and rename:

mkdir atlassia
mv atlassian-confluence-5.4.3 atlassian/confluence

Make the data folder:

mkdir /opt/atlassian/confluence-data

Tell Confluence where the data folder is:

vi /opt/atlassian/confluence/confluence/WEB-INF/classes/confluence-init.properties
#change last line to:
confluence.home=/opt/atlassian/confluence-data

Final Steps

  • Check /opt/atlassian/confluence/conf/server.xml to verify, I didn't change anything. Default port is 8090
  • Setup database (no instructions here on how to do that) - I used the smartos percona image

I stopped here and decided to use the war install instead... but you should be able to just go to http://:8090 and finish the install
